How Can I Disable Namedrop for known contacts

I carry two iPhones with me. One is mine and the other is provided by my employer. With the new namedrop feature in iOS17, every time I pull my phones out of my pocket or place them into my pocket, they start the contact sharing process asking me on both devices if I want to share my contact details. I then have to continuously exit on each phone.

Apple should create a feature where if two iPhones already have the other phones contact details, then the namedrop will not activate when those two devices touch. Or give the option to go in a specify a particular contact, phone number, or email, that you wish for namedrop to never activate for.

I hope this will be fixed soon, it's very distracting.

I had the same issue, it’s a cool feature. I will only ever use it for my personal phone so I turned off contact sharing on my work phone which resolved the issue - both phones have to be enabled.
