Related Name fields not conveyed when contact shared

Re: iOS 16.5.1 on iPhone 14 Pro Max

I understand iOS at some point began providing an option to limit fields when sharing a Contact. That’s great, but it has also arbitrarily eliminated fields from that option, namely Related Names. This can be essential data. There is no other non-manual means that I can find for conveying these fields. This has both business and personal implications. Am I missing something, or has an Apple developer foolishly overlooked this essential part of sharing Contact data. Thank you!

Thanks for your reply, but 1) it did not address my issue; and 2) the link provided led to many paragraphs of unrelated info and only one paragraph pertaining to sharing a contact that is badly out-of-date and effectively irrelevant to the question I raised.

Here’s the related paragraph from your linked info:

”Share a contact

Tap a contact, tap Share Contact, then choose a method for sending the contact information.

Sharing the contact sends all of the info from the contact’s card.”

iOS 16.5.1 includes “options” for Contact data field sharing.

Please re-read my post! When sharing a Contact I was not given the option (opportunity) to share ALL FIELDS of the Contact with the recipient. I use the “Related Names” fields constantly, for business and personal Contacts. These are important pieces of information. They will not convey when I share the Contact with another iPhone user. In the list of optional fields to share, “Related Names,” or the section’s data fields, do not appear in the checkbox ☑️ list.

This appears to be a major coding oversight or a bug. Either way, it should be fixed.

This will be of great importance to Apple power users like myself, and useful ultimately to anyone sharing a Contact.

Allow me to provide a specific example…

The Contact card for a restaurant will include the business name and perhaps the Chef Proprietor’s name and title at the top of the card. But there are other staff members that are also listed on the same Contact card under the Related Names section. These may include the Sous Chef, the General Manager, Maître d’, Sommelier, and others. If this restaurant is my client or customer, this staff list is very important to me. Now if I need to share the Contact with a colleague in my organization, or with an outside vendor, I want ALL that information, ALL those data fields to convey. But that’s not happening.

Do you understand now?

Please advise.

Hi Mail_Flags_Change_Colors,

Thank you for sharing these additional details regarding your concern. If you do not see the selectable fields you would like to see when sharing a contact, there would be no additional setting to enable, changing what fields are selectable to share.

However, if you would like to share your feedback and ideas with Apple, you can do so below.
