AppleTV stuck on Data & Privacy Screen

I have an AppleTV A1469. I am unable to setup the AppleTV because I no longer have a remote and the iPhone setup method gets stuck at the data & privacy screen. At this screen it asks me to click continue but I can find no means to select and click the continue button.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. If your Apple TV isn't responding, you can try to restart your Apple TV by following these steps here: Restart Apple TV - Apple Support


* Disconnect Apple TV from the power outlet, wait five seconds, then reconnect it.


Once it powers back on, try to use it again. If you continue to experience issues, you might have to purchase a replacement remote to use your Apple TV.

The software remote on iPhone will not work until you have set up the Apple TV box (3rd generation), including configuring the connection to your home network. You will also have to confirm the software remote connection, by entering a pairing code into Apple TV, using the regular remote.


For the Apple TV (3rd generation), your options are:


The Apple Remote (aluminum) A1294 is no longer sold by Apple, but some third party resellers may still have a few.

Replacement remotes will have to be linked to the box, using a button combination.
