My Apple ID/email address has become overwhelmed with spam.

I need to change my apple iCloud email address as it is acquiring 50+ spam hits daily that are now getting through to my inbox. I have properly activated all controls in the system, set rules for dozens of spam hits, forwarded addresses to spam and to report-fishing. To no avail The system can't handle the spam properly. I cannot spend hours each week trying to control it anymore. I see the only solution now is to close the email account but I would like to have the other iCloud services as they are very good. As the address is my Apple ID the problem is obvious. So, simply turn off the email?, change Apple ID? Or opt out all of the iCloud services since they are handcuffed to the now dirty iCloud email/Apple ID? I consider this to now be a serious security issue with the system overall.

All suggestions/solutions are appreciated.....

Am no expert in this area. Seems you can not change the primary iCloud email address.

Wondering if you may want to create an "alias" iCloud Mail address .

You can likely change your Apple ID to that address.

Thanks so much.

Fortunate that those option are available and that will be my next effort. From my experience, I would recommend to others setting up a new Apple ID, to create an optional email address and never use the Apple ID as a primary email. That way the email address, if breached heavily, can be replaced for better device security.

Interesting to note, my wife and some friends have always had a mac.com email address with no spam/junk problem.
