Why does my phone not show up in finder when it is connected to my MacBookPro

Question

How can transfer files from my Android device to my MacBook Pro using the USB port? My phone does not show up in finder when it is connected.

iMac (M1, 2021)

Thank you for the information, but I still do not see my phone in Finder. I have all the locations checked to show in the sidebar.

Verify you have the Locations carrot spun open in your Finder sidebar (move your mouse to the right side there to reveal) ...

verify you have Finder>Settings>Sidebar> Locations checked
