ipad frozen screen on screenshot when using guided access

My ipad’s screen freezes when i take a screenschot on guided access when the screen orientation is locked. This doesn’t happen when screen orientation is unlocked.

iPad Pro, iPadOS 16

Just wanted to state, I have the same issue. Of course the force restart corrects it but only until my kiddo accidentally takes another screen shot. Think this might be a software glitch

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities.


I understand that Guided Access is not responding and iPad is not responding. Force restart iPad to power it off.


"Force restart iPad (models with Face ID or with Touch ID in the top button)

If your iPad doesn’t have the Home button, do the following:

  1. Press and quickly release the volume button nearest to the top button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume button farthest from the top button.
  3. Press and hold the top button.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the top button."
