Sudden increased data usage

Today, out of nowhere, my phone started to use large amounts of data on cellular and Wi-Fi networks. Suddenly my 15Gb month plan was gone in a matter of minutes. I checked the operator’s app and in about 10 minutes it had used 6gb without me even touching the phone, although I noticed it got very hot very fast.

I installed a third party app (my data manager) and I was able to see that the address that is causing all the data usage which I wasn’t able to identify. It keeps sending/receiving up to 2gb of data in less than a minute at times. I already reset my network settings, and it got better, but after one or two ours, it started happening again. Does any one know this address? Is it apple’s? Do you know what kind of data does it transfer? I’m completely puzzled with this…

I don't think the data shown is for the day. It is for the period. Ask your Carrier for the period-wise data usage. You are not charged for the data consumption based on what is disaplayed on your iPhone.

What is the Last Reset Date* on your device? [Scroll all the way to the bottom]

Starting this Date* there are two sections which provide data for you analysis.

Under Cellular / Mobile Data Section

Current Period and Current Roaming Period cellular data usage.

[Scroll Down]

Call Time section

Current Period and Lifetime Calls.

How did you assess for which period the data usage belongs to?

Just to clarify, it's important to understand that a single SIM card can actually be used across multiple devices. This means that you can consume data from any device, including Android devices.

All the data consumption associated with that SIM card is consolidated in one central location: your trusted carrier. It's worth noting that your carrier will bill you based on this consolidated information. Therefore, if you need a comprehensive breakdown of your usage, I would recommend reaching out to your carrier and requesting a detailed itemized bill.

By doing so, you'll have a clear overview of your usage across all the devices you've used with that SIM card, ensuring transparency and accuracy in your billing.

Hi, thanks for your answer, however this situation occurs when the phone communicates with the link shown on the image below. Apparently it's not malicious but I couldn't quite understand whether it's an Apple domain or a "masked" address. After running some data management apps, apparently it happens mostly when the phone is connected to Wi-Fi and it heats up considerably when it does. I checked in one app, and sometimes it transactions up to 2GB of "data" in seconds, which I find to be almost (technically) impossible. Meanwhile, I turned off mobile data, just to be safe because some days ago, it happened over cellular data and my 15Gb monthly plan was gone in ~10 minutes. I only use one SIM card and always on the same equipment (IPhone 13), so there's no shared data between equipment.

I couldn't get which app(s) use this link to transfer data, or what data it transfers because it seems that it either downloads or uploads data, but I can't understand which data exactly, because no new files appear and the the phones storage capacity doesn't suffer decrease. I already reset data settings and even the phone (not a total erase though), but the problem persists...
