How to remove "Added by Me" from Finder window

When I have a shared folder or files on iCloud Drive, every single file is labeled "Added by Me" or Added by UserName". I don't need or want to see that. Ever.

Is there a way to turn off this waste of space?

Honestly, it wouldn't bother me if it disappeared first, but it shrinks the actual filename before it disappears when re-sizing columns. Maddening.

I would like a way to hide "Added by Me" especially in the Columns and List views. This tag is nearly as dark as the folder or filename that precedes it, making it very difficult to quickly scan file contents. This is poor UI design in my experience, and enough of an issue for me to move to a 3rd-party cloud sharing service. Thank you for your consideration.

Hi Dyslexicon,

Thanks for contacting Apple Support Communities!

We understand that you'd like to remove the "Shared By" option from your shared folders in iCloud, correct?

You can manage how the files are shared but, removing "Shared By" isn't a feature as outlined here: Share files and folders in iCloud Drive on iCloud.com - Apple Support

"Manage sharing if you’re the owner

If you own a file or folder, you can manage participants and sharing settings.

Note: You can’t change the sharing settings for an individual file in a shared folder. You must change the settings of the folder.

  1. In iCloud Drive on iCloud.com, select the shared file or folder.
  2. Click the Manage Shared File or Folder button, then do any of the following:
    • Add participants: Click Add People or Send Link.
    • Remove participants from a privately shared item: Hold the pointer over the person’s name, then click the More pop-up button and choose Remove Access.
• Edit sharing options for a participant of a privately shared item: Hold the pointer over the person’s name, then click the More pop-up button and choose an access level (Can Make Changes or View Only).
• Edit sharing options for everyone: Click Share Options.
    • Copy the link to the shared file or folder: Click Copy Link.

3. Click Done."

Feel free to share any ideas about iCloud features you'd like to see with Apple directly here: Feedback - iCloud - Apple

Take care!
