Exfat 32 not recognized by Disk Utility

I have a dash cam that will only work on a Exfat 32 format. When I hook up the disk reader and try and format the sd card to this format, it does not appear as one of the format options. Why does Apple not support the Exfat 32 format? The dash camera is inoperable without the Exfat 32 format...and my MacBook doesn't give me the option, at least not one I can see....Frustrating! Any suggestions...

Are you sure it is ExFat 32 not FAT32? Exfat is a newer format that replaced FAT32.
