Memory Stick Pro Duo transfer to Macbook Air 2022 M2

I recently purchased a 2005 Sony Cybershot DSCT7 to embrace the digicam movement. However, I have been struggling in trying to to upload photos to my my Macbook Air 2022 M2. I tried two different USB-C adapters, and eventually contacted Best Buy in search of an adapter that explicitly works with Memory Stick Duo Pros. Since it is not an actual SD Card, the employee told me their Platinum USB-C adapter reader would be able to handle the task. However, as I attempt to upload the photos again I am still unable to access the memory card. I am certain the card is not corrupt or damaged, as it works fine in the Camera. Are Macs not able to process Memory Card Duo Pro's even with an adapter? Is there a solution I am missing?

I don't know what Best Buy got you to purchase, but I don't see any Memory Stick Pro Duo adapters or readers on their Web site. Memory Stick Pro Duos are almost the size of full-size SD cards, and have a similar shape, but are NOT SD cards. I would not expect them to work in SD readers.

I see adapters on Amazon for plugging a microSD card into a Memory Stick Pro Duo slot – but that's the reverse of what you're trying to do.

There are a few USB card readers on Amazon whose descriptions claim explicitly that they support Memory Stick Pro Duo cards. I would think your best chance of reading the cards lies with them.
