Restore from iCloud to same iPhone did not restore 8GB of iCloud messages backed-up. Need messages restored.
I'm on the latest version of iOS on an iPhone XS. The phone has been completely misbehaving as of a few days ago (touch screen randomly types letters I didn't press, the 'p' and 'a' refuse to type when pressed slowly and deliberately, and behavior is not consistent). I did a final backup to iCloud that showed successful. The messages showed as backed-up (7.9GBs worth of messages). I attempted to factory refresh the phone to see if it would fix the touch screen problems. After doing the full delete and reset, and doing the restore from iCloud, the phone still exhibited the same problems and re-logging into password prompts on recovery where a bit glitchy. After it restored nearly all of the apps, photos, and other items, it still never restored any of my messages. How do we make iOS re-try restoring the iCloud backup of messages? I have a new iPhone 14 on it's way, but want to see if I can get message histories back in the mean-time. Is it possible that the touch screen problems disrupted and iCloud restore on messages if all other data seems to have come back?
