My child can't send texts to me from their Apple Watch

This issue may be because the call or message can't be sent due to no Wi-Fi or mobile data connection.

I would recommend them turning mobile data on, on there Apple Watch. (If they don't have the cellular version of the Apple Watch, this won't be possible.) And when mobile data is turned on, the messages should go through.

I would recommend checking your settings on your Childs iPhone.

Settings -> Messages -> Send & Receive -> Select the phone number you would like the messages to be sent from. If this doesn't resolve your issue, please let me know.

I am having the same issue. My child has a cellular watch, no phone just the watch and it’s paired to my phone. She had her own Apple ID and own number. The cellar is turned on for the watch but she is unable most of the time 90% of time to send or receive messages.

We have 2 boys both under 16 years old. Apple Watch SE with cellular. Anyone in the contact list can text them. However even though we added them as contacts with each other they cannot text each other. Is this because they are both under 16?

Has this always been the case? Or have they been able to send messages on there watch before?

Do they have an iPhone?

I am having a similar issue. My kid’s cellular Apple watch that we just got and setup (has his own number and plan), he can make phone calls to me, however, his text messages do not show up.
