Alarm on watch ONLY

I ONLY want the haptic alarm to go off on my Apple Watch - usually, everything works fine.

But on occasion, the iPhone rings loudly instead. Grrrrr.

What settings do I need to have on/off for this unwanted interruption never to occur and only the watch haptics to work?

Alarm is no longer working on Apple Watch, but on iPhone instead I have an Apple Watch Series 8, and an iPhone 16 Pro. Both are up to date with the current iOS. I have had my alarm set on my Apple Watch so it only vibrates for the past couple of years, and it has been working fine. I keep things set to silent because my wife doesn't get up as early as I do. So the watch ONLY vibrates. I keep my phone on my nightstand (also set to silent) BUT the alarm does not vibrate or flash the light - it's only that the screen lights up with the option to turn off the alarm, but I do this on my watch instead. A few days ago the alarm no longer vibrates on my watch, but instead the flashlight blinks brightly on the iPhone - which has never happened before. Obviously my wife wakes up when this happens, so I want to go back to only the watch vibrating. I can't figure out which setting must have changed, and YouTube wasn't much help. So I really don't know if the setting changed on my watch or my phone. Any suggestions on what to look for? [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Thx for responding - but turning off the alarm on the iPhone’s Clock app also turns it off on the watch. (I use the Sleep section of the Health app to set a daily alarm schedule)

Any other settings to turn on/off?

Set the alarm using the Watch alarm app only, do not use the iPhone alarm (clock app).
