Massive memory leak in iTunes for Windows 12.12.9.4

I have been trying to resolve this memory leak for two weeks now. My pagefile.sys can grow as large as 200+ GB (yes, GB) while running iTunes for Windows. I can't even sync my iPhone because iTunes hangs up after using about 70GB virtual memory.

I have downloaded this iTunes version three times. I have uninstalled iTunes for Windows a couple of times. I have completely cleaned Windows Registry. I have done a complete refresh of Windows 11. Nothing helps.

I can't go back to older version of iTunes to see if that helps because iTunes does not permit that after the Library file is updated.

Is there a way that the Library file (XML) can be checked/recreated? I don't want to lose the Ratings that I have on the 8,000 tracks.

Any ideas? Thank you.

How long ago did you update to 12.12.9.4? When reverting to an older build you can restore & rename the relevant library file from the Previous iTunes Libraries folder but you do lose recent additions and stats that have changed since you updated. That might be less complicated than rebuilding from an XML file which will wipe all of your Date Added details.

turingtest2,

Thanks for trying to help. I tried so many different things but nothing worked to stop the page file growing huge and iTunes eventually hanging the PC. This was when I tried to do iPhone backups or even just listening to tracks.

Apple has just released iTunes 12.10.10.1 and I installed it. The memory problem has been resolved! The page file does not grow any larger than the starting 4GB size. The iPhone backup completed with no issues and I'm not seeing any problems with iTunes.

Thanks
