Water Damaged Apple Watch SE

I have an Apple Watch SE that I have absolutely loved and use all the time. I can never remember abusing and I don’t use it in water much at all. I went to a friends house and used their 4ft deep above ground pool for 10min. I decided there was no reason to take it off with the water rating. But the next day my crown button won’t work at all and I cannot do anything to get it working so far. I have tried a bowl of rice overnight, and a full factory reset as well. No new updates to get.

How did this happen? what can I do?

Your Apple Watch is water resistant, but not waterproof.  Water resistance isn't a permanent condition and can diminish over time. Apple Watch can't be rechecked or resealed for water resistance. Formorei info, see:

especially the 'What should I do if my Apple Watch gets wet?' section.
