Music returning "not available in this region"

I am getting message "This song is not currently available in your country or region" when I am attempting to hear music that was recorded by a band that I am in and have uploaded to my iPhone. There are obviously no licensing issues in effect.

iPad 2, iOS 9

Hi there macjug,

Do you still see the same message if you restart all devices involved? Restarting can help refresh software and may help resolve this message. If needed, the articles below can show how to do that:

If the issue continues, do you use Apple Music to keep your music library up-to-date across your devices? Your answers can help us determine possible next steps.

We look forward to your reply.

Take care.

Hello macjug,

You mentioned that the songs are recordings of your band. To clarify, were these songs synced from a computer? Or were they purchased in iTunes?

If you haven't already, try removing one of the songs from your iPhone, then either redownload or re-sync it to see if that resolves the error:

Sync with a Mac: Sync music between your Mac and iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Sync via iTunes: Use iTunes to sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod with your computer - Apple Support

Redownload past purchases: Redownload music - Apple Support

Let us know how it goes.

Cheers!
