My Apple Watch Series 3 won’t turn on after being in the water (on water lock mode)

I’ve had my Apple Watch Series 3 for about 3 years and have never experienced any problems with it. A few days ago I went for a swim, and I turned on water lock mode. Once I got out of the water forgot to eject the water by turning off water lock mode. Later that day, I noticed the Apple Watch displayed a black screen and I tried to force restart it. It did not work, so I ignored the problem and put it on charge later that night. That did not work, so I left it on charge for a couple days, then proceeded to try some tips I found online. I used all of the apple support suggestions, plus a few I found on google. I don’t know how to turn my Apple Watch back on again.

If the Apple Watch has stopped responding,I suggest performing a forced restart. Steps needed are found in the Apple Support article: Restart your Apple Watch - Apple Support

i.e. press and hold both the side button and Digital Crown for at least 10 seconds, then release both buttons when you see the Apple logo.

If you've completed that troubleshooting and the issue is still not resolved, Contact Support.

PS If water has gotten in then it has nothing to do with the Water Lock - all that does is firstly to stop water movement "tapping" the face and secondly to eject water from the speaker cavity. It is no more water resistant with the lock on. The water will have entered through the back or face seals and if so it will be unrepairable.
