Deleted and Private Playlists Appearing in Apple Music Search Results

When I search my Apple Music username, it shows my profile and then a bunch of deleted playlists that were never made public or visible on my profile. I can’t edit them. I have tried adding them to my library and then re-deleting but that doesn’t work. I tried adding them and editing them to rename them and remove all the songs and that works when you click on it (the search result view still shows the old title). When I try to delete the edited playlist, though, it reverts back to the original. When it’s added to my library, the option to “show on profile and in search” is toggled off but it still shows up in search. Please help! I don’t want old and private playlists to be visible especially when they’re from years ago and I never shared them.

Hi lorelei260,

Are you trying to edit a playlist on your device? If so, we recommend that you try the steps here: Create playlists on iPhone.

To perform the recommended troubleshooting steps via the link above, complete the steps in the section titled "Edit a playlist you created on iPhone."

Tap the playlist, tap the More button, tap Edit, then do any of the following:
* Add more songs: Tap Add Music, then choose music.
* You can also touch and hold an item (song, album, playlist, or music video), tap Add to a Playlist, then choose a playlist.
* Delete a song: Tap the Delete button, then tap Delete. Deleting a song from a playlist doesn’t delete it from your library.
* Change the song order: Drag the Reorder button next to a song.
Changes you make to your music library are updated across all your devices when Sync Library is turned on in Music settings. If you’re not an Apple Music subscriber, the changes appear in your music library the next time you sync with your computer.

We recommend the steps above because they will show you how to edit a playlist you created on iPhone.

In the event you're trying to delete a playlist, then we suggest that you follow the steps in the section below.

Touch and hold the playlist, then tap Delete from Library.
You can also tap the playlist, tap the More button, then tap Delete from Library.

Please let us know the outcome after giving the above steps a try.
