Mac mini not found by Apple Configurator

Hi,

I'm at work and I am resetting all the iMacs and updating them to the latest version of there macOS.

We have 1 mac mini with M1 chip and when I am reinstalling the macOS and I arrive at the step create account for the Mac it will after typing in details and clicking make account just freeze and after a wile say there was an error. No matter how many times I try and how many different combinations for the account I try.

When I restart the mac mini I will arrive at the normal welcome screen with the accounts that I just couldnt create all there. None of them work with the password that I gave them.

So after some googling I came across fixing the Mac mini using apple configurator where I have to connect it to another iMac using a USB-C cable. So I open Apple Configurator on my working iMac and I put my Mac Mini into DFU mode by pressing the power button and inserting the power cord. The led is now amber so I know it worked. But the Mac mini will not show up on Apple configurator. I have tried a different cable and I have even tried a different iMac with the software.

ANY idea what is going on at all and how I can fix it...

(the iMac I am using to fix the mac mini is on Monterey 12.6 and the second iMac I tried to use is Ventura latest. The Mac mini in question is on Big Sur.)

UPDATE: If you're having the issue of the M1 Mac not creating an account on installation. Make sure you have a stable internet connection. If possible plug in a LAN cable. That solved the problem for me.
