Apple tv suports only stereo pcm 2.0

Hello, i just bought the new apple tv 4k, ei connected to my tv and sound bar(sonos beam 2gen) and when i watch something on youtube it only supports stereo PCM and the same content play on the tv interface webos it show in the sonos app is dolby digital 5.1 and it s sound richer also, but in movies it support dolby atmos, what can i do to have dolby digital 5.1 on youtube?

Atv 4k 3rd gen Atmos issue I have a 2 year old lg tv that is eArc compatible, a sonos arc and Apple TV 4K 3rd generation. I plugged my Sonos arc into my arc HDMI port on my tv and my Apple TV into the other HDMI on my tv. No matter the app or purchased ITunes movie the best sound I get is stereo pcm. If I watch from an app directly from my tv I get Dolby Atmos or whatever the best sound that is offered. I have read all the forums and articles and gone through every setting on my tv and Apple TV and all I get off of Apple TV shows and movies is stereo pcm. What do I have to do to get Atmos with the setup I have when streaming through the Apple TV?

Apple TV hd4k - sonos arc + surrounds - LG 70up70 cant get surround sound Hi guys, so this is my setup - Apple TV hd4k - sonos arc + surrounds - LG 70up70 Apple tv is connected via HDMI to the Tv Sonos is connected to the TV via HDMI arc when i watch something from the lg tv apps Sonos plays it in surround (5.1, 2.1) but if i play the same thing ( netflix, or even apple + content ) through the Apple TV i only get Stereo PCM. Tv is set to pass through and bitstream i tried everything and looked online for hours.. Can anyone help?

Sound output format problem Apple TV Hello, I have my Apple TV output sound via LG TV to Sonos Arc. When I play a movie with Atmos the Arc correctly gets an Atmos signal and confirms this (Atmos available set on ATV). Any other sound format, e.g. Dolby Digital Plus the ATV output Multichannel PCM 7.1 and the sound is not great. However, when I play Dolby Digital Plus movies on App from Disney+/Amazon Prime/Netflix directly on LG TV, then the format output is ALWAYS correctly transferred to the Sonos Arc and confirmed and the sound is always better. Of course, I can force the ATV to output only Dolby Digital 5.1, but then instead I lose the Atmos output. All formats get correcly transffered directly from LG TV (any App) to Arc. Is there any solution or can I only use Apple TV for Atmos content or content from Apple TV+ App? Sincerely, Claes

I don t have this option on apple tv, and the same video on my tv works with dolby multichannel pcm 5.1, and on apple tv is stereo pcm 2.0 what can i do?

This is played through LG TV>SONOS sound bar and i check using sonos app

This is played through Apple TV>LG TV>Sonos sound bar

NOTE that when i watch movie that supports Dolby Atmos is work fine.

Note that most content on YouTube has stereo audio.

Note that the YouTube app on Apple TV has a separate in-app setting for 5.1 audio. Access it from a video with surround sound. It defaults to Off.

I’m not seeing any surround sound available in that video, just stereo (5th column).

Could it be that your TV or soundbar upmixes for the native YT app on the TV, but not for HDMI devices?

And what can i do? Becasue on the TV+Sonos sound bar sounds better and richer than apple tv+ TV+sonos
