No answers, some questions…

Do the Safari-reported certificate problems also happen when connected vis cellular and not Wi-Fi?

Which iOS version is in use on this iPhone 6s? (iOS 12.5.7 would be expected.)

Do you have any add-on VPN apps installed? (If so, remove it, restart the iPhone, and try again._

Is the iPhone time and date set correctly? (If not, either re-set to fetch the date automatically, or set he time and date correctly manually.)

Root Certificates:

It may not apply to your post. But, root certificates are a matter of login credentials. It is basically when you go to a public LAN, and you are provided with a password for getting in. Hotels have these, being you would be staying there for a certain amount of time. Sometimes, you lose the service (due to using too much services of the LAN), and then you must request a new one to get back in. College have these as well, in which case, you talk to the Web Master, requesting a new one.

That’s not at all what root certificates are… The trusted root certificates are part of the certificate trust chain, and are what the certificates that the individual certificates issued to individual web servers eventually trace back to through and often involving some number of intermediate certificates… and the trusted root certificates are set by Apple, and are not modifiable by users.

…nor are users going to be acquiring server certificates for web servers with certificate issues, …

… nor are individual certificates seemingly at the core for certificate errors arising across multiple hosts.

Just had the same issue happen to me too. I have an iPhone 13 Pro running iOS 15.4.1. Every website I open gives me the same error, on both wifi and data…

iOS 15.4.1 is over a year old. I’d suggest testing again with iOS 16.6; with current.

And one other detail; if there’s an ad-blocker installed, temporarily remove it and test again.
