Fixed: Safari "the certificate for this server was invalid. you might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be

I was able to fix the error I was getting on safari that appeared for the first time right after a software update on my 6s. The error on safari said: "the certificate for this server was invalid. you might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be …..”

To fix the problem, go into settings, then scroll down and tap safari, once in safari tap the option “Hide IP Address” and select “off” for the option. After you select off go back to the safari app and see if the pages load. Once fixed if you prefer you can then go back into settings, safari, hide ip address and change the option to “hide ip address from “trackers only”. Safari should still work after this but won’t work if you select “trackers and websites” unfortunately.

Good luck!!!

Thank you for prompt fix! Since you know this partial fix think Apple will get it 100% again?

It’s not cool that it’s set to “Trackers Only” to have Safari work properly.

Undermines its purpose.
