I can't upgrade my Mac OS , I can't download new upgrade, my apps won't work

I have an old MacBook Pro 13 " early 2011 running on High Sierra 10.13.6 , so many applications won't run because this is too old but nothing I try to update seems to be working

Incompatibility is the Culprit:

If you cannot go past High Sierra, then these apps are just not going to work. So, that means it is time to upgrade to a much more center Mac.
