Incoming call fails on Apple Watch with cellular.

I have an SE iWatch with cellular (version 9.6). My watch started showing "Called Failed" on in-comming calls. I rebooted my watch and iPhone at which time my iWatch did not take in-comming calls. I went to the watch app on my iPhone and clicked on cellular. I then clicked on my cellular plan which gave me a pop-up to manage or remove the plan. I clicked on manage the plan and the app appeared to reload the plan. I tried an in-comming call and the watch worked correctly. Not sure why the cellular was missing of lost.

  1. Check Cellular Signal: Ensure that your Apple Watch has a strong cellular signal. If the signal is weak, it could affect the ability to make or receive calls. Move to an area with better cellular reception if needed.
  2. Restart Watch: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues. Press and hold the side button on your Apple Watch until the power off slider appears. Slide it to turn off the watch, then press and hold the side button again until the Apple logo appears to restart the watch.
  3. Check Airplane Mode: Make sure that Airplane Mode is turned off on your Apple Watch. Swipe up from the watch face to access the Control Center, and tap the Airplane Mode icon if it's enabled.
  4. Check Do Not Disturb: Ensure that you haven't enabled Do Not Disturb mode, which could prevent incoming calls from ringing. Swipe up from the watch face, and check the Do Not Disturb icon in the Control Center.
  5. Check Call Forwarding: Verify that call forwarding is not enabled on your iPhone. Open the Phone app on your iPhone, go to Settings > Call Forwarding, and make sure it's turned off.
  6. Update Software: Ensure that both your iPhone and Apple Watch have the latest software updates installed. Outdated software could lead to compatibility issues.
  7. Reset Network Settings: On your iPhone, you can try resetting network settings. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Keep in mind that this will reset Wi-Fi, cellular, and VPN settings, so you'll need to re-enter Wi-Fi passwords.
  8. Erase and Pair Again: If none of the above steps work, you might need to unpair your Apple Watch from your iPhone and then set it up again. This should be a last resort, as it will erase all data on your watch.
  9. Contact Apple Support: If the issue persists after trying these steps, it's a good idea to reach out to Apple Support for further assistance. They can provide personalized help and guidance to resolve the problem.

Remember to back up your Apple Watch and iPhone before attempting any troubleshooting steps that might result in data loss.
