I found an Iphone on a mountain trail. It does not have an emergency contact or medical information. It is locked and has sos in the top left corner. How do i go about unloicking and factory resetting this phone so that it can be used?

Drop the phone off at the local police station. If you can't do that it, recycle it.
If this hiking trail is in some state or national park that has a manned park ranger station, you could drop off the phone in the lost and found department there.
Whoever owns the phone might come looking for it, and get his or her phone back.
