After import still images from the photos app in FCP I get the message "missing file"?
My library is located on an external drive.
FCP version is 10.6.7
MacOS is 13.5 (22G74)
iMac van Hugo Spiessens (2)
yes FCP has full access
not using iCloud Photo Libary
None of the photos were edited.
My solution is, at this time, export the photos to my HD and then insert media in FCP. That seems to be working.
It is not the solution I prefer, but still.
They are all videos being imported from a SD card to the FCP Library. It always says missing file when you export the SD card even though I selected everything to download into the FCP Library. It has always worked fine but since the last update it will not import like normal. I have to download everything to my desktop then drag it into the video for the videos to import without issues.
So this has nothing at all to do with the Photos app that the original post is talking about?
Are you using the FCP Import window or something else?
Did all the importing and processing you set up complete before the card was removed? Are there any icons on the clips in the browser? Are there poster frames for the clips? Post screenshots of what you're seeing in the application.
Some things to check:
does FCP have Full Disk Access?
are you using iCloud Photo Library?
have the photos in question been edited in Photos?
I am having the same problem, it is very frustrating. I'm guessing this is a software issue? It was working fine before the update became available
Please give complete details of exactly what you’re doing where. Where is your Photos library? Do you use iCloud Photos Library? Have you edited the stills in Photos? How are you importing?
