IPad Pro M1 - extended display not working, only mirrors

this has been the most frustrating issue i have had so far. Online videos show its possible to extend ipad pro m1 monitor, but it seems only working on Apple monitors?

What am I doing wrong and what do i need to do to extend, and not mirror my Ipad monitor?

Specs and details: Ipad pro m1, magic keyboard, cant find the arrangement setting in display and brightness settings tab, ipados 16.6, intehill u13na 13' 4k portable monitor

Thanks then its a software/firmware issue. The monitor is detected but arrangement settings are missing and the monitor only mirrors.

nothing can be done i guess? usual apple style?

well most other devices just 'work' straight out the box. i dont understand since i paid premium for a apple product that i would have less access vs windows and even android

While many third-party monitors, 4K and otherwise, some don’t work well with iPad. Stage Manager support for external monitors is not restricted to monitors of Apple origin.

How are you connecting your monitor to your iPad - HDMI, USB-C (DP Alt Mode), or Thunderbolt? Something else?

Concluding that the issue is with your iPad is somewhat shortsighted - in that you exclude the possibility of the chosen monitor, or your adapter/hub (assuming HDMI or VGA) or cables, being potential causes.

I have heard this before, and someone told me that when they connected a mouse and keyboard (or Magic Keyboard) this solved the issue they were having with it mirroring and allowed the extended display. You can use a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard or as stated the Magic Keyboard and plug it in again and should solve the issue you are describing.

I have tried most others outside of thunderbolt as it didnt come with the monitor

how likely is thunderbolt the issue?

If you external monitor does not support Thunderbolt, you not attempt to use Thunderbolt cables.
