Unblocking a contact - how long does it take?(!)

I blocked a contact for about 1 week. About 28 hours ago I unblocked it. They are still not able to call me. What the heck - rebooted phone; did a network reset; it is a 14Pro; and the iOS is 16.5.1. I deleted the contact, and it still didn't allow them to call in. Any advise? (I only blocked them in my contacts, not through my carrier; to be clear.)
