Prior to the ios 16.5 update, I was able to see read receipts for at least 2 of my contacts. Since that update, the messages only say Delivered although I am aware that the message has been read (because I receive a reply). Both contacts confirm that they have not changed their read receipt settings and this issue is the same on my ipad mini (6th generation, ipados 16.5.1)

Update Bug:
Having just updated, it may be a bug in the update. So, report this to Apple...
Report this to Apple:
Do your Part: Provide Apple with feedback on this, letting them know about this issue. Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come.
