I am trying to find a way to have notifications from the workout app to make the announcments through my airpods instaead of my watch. Example, for running, I want to hear the distance, splits, pace, etc. Does anyone know? I have the SE version of the watch, just bought this month.

To start, you'll want to be sure you have your AirPods paired with your Apple Watch by following these steps:
Pair your Bluetooth accessory
1. Put your Bluetooth accessory in pairing mode using the instructions that came with it.
2. On your Apple Watch, tap Settings > Bluetooth. Your Apple Watch will search for nearby Bluetooth accessories.
3. Choose your Bluetooth accessory.
4. If asked, enter a passkey or PIN.
Keep in mind, they're connected to your iPhone and Apple Watch at the same time, but you should hear audio from your AirPods if they're paired with your Apple Watch:
When you set up AirPods with your iPhone, they're simultaneously connected to both your Apple Watch and iPhone, and they play sound automatically from either device.
