I opened the iCloud backup page at the beginning and then I clicked on backup for backing up the data it started but it was not backing up it was evident that it was not backing up as I waited for it for more than a hour

Turn off iCloud backups. Turn off WiFi. Restart your device. Turn on WiFi. Turn on the iCloud backup and try again.
