kindle app continuous scrolling not working correctly on new ipad

New iPad Pro 4the gen will not allow for the continuous scrolling to be set on the kindle app. Amazon couldn’t provide a fix either. I toggle it on and it won’t stay on. I’ve reloaded app several times and doesn’t help. Verified I’m using the latest version of the kindle app. I’ve seen other discussions with same problem with no solution posted. Works fine on my old iPad so it’s some kind of glitch with this model of iPad. Any ideas?

I changed my font to Helvetica and the continuous scroll started to work. Not sure why changing the font made a difference but it worked. I also changed the page color to tan but I don’t think that made the difference.
