Big lost but still willing to help

Originally purchase to iPhone 12 from someone who was selling them. I paid 210 for each of them. They were actually both in the box charging cards still wrapped up with a bread tie around them. Took them home to surprise my children with their new up grade only to find out that they were both Activation Lock to the previous owner. Since I can not find the owner is there anyway to disable the “Find My Device” so I can turn it into the recycling box and get at least half if not all my money back???

I'm sorry this happened to you. With them being activation locked, the only thing you can do is see if you can get in touch with the seller and get your money back.

When you purchase from someone and not Apple or an Apple Authorized Reseller you run the risk of the device being locked to the original owner, and only the original owner can remove the activation lock with their Apple ID and password.

Apple will remove an activation lock with the original store receipt. Without the original receipt there's nothing Apple can do.

Return the phones to the seller for a refund.

The phones are useless unless you can get a hold of the original owner of each phone and get them to release the Activation Lock on the phone.

NEVER buy a used iPhone unless it will power on to the "hello" screen. Do this....before...you buy the phone.
