2021 Toyota RAV4 can't adjust volume when using carplay

Tried the hold power button on my rav4 until the system resets

works a treat

but there is some ongoing connection issue

happens more often if I connect cable after I press the start button

On Toyota units, holding the power button down for several seconds helps a lot.

This issue seems common in Toyota car audio units. We are experiencing the same issue in our Prado. The only way we have found to get it to work is to unplug the phone, plug it back in and see if it works. After a few goes it often fixes it. Completely frustrating! It's distracting and dangerous too.
