I’m recording a very long audiobook and started editing the first chapter…track number 97 is missing and I didn’t delete it. How do I add that track and/or find it? There’s a “add new” option which I’m nervous to try, ha! Thank you!

In general, if you find something mysteriously disappeared, try the universal "undo" first: ⌘ Z
Some apps support versioning: View and restore past versions of documents on Mac - Apple Support. "Documents" in its context can refer to any work product and is not strictly limited to files such as text or pictures.
