While i was online a message popped with the Apple logo stating a hacker is tracking me… and that i need to click on a button below to download the ‘protection connection app’ and install the recommended app to repair the problem. I was going to click on the button but then i became afraid the it could be a scam!
Any advice please?

Apple will not contact you like that. And no one can "see" was is or is not on your device unless you give them permission for remote access.

Advice? Your gut told you not to click. Listen to your gut and use common sense and you’ll be fine.
