Images with links disappear when sent by Mail since upgrading to Ventura

Hi, I often add links to embedded images in Mail. However, since upgrading to Ventura these images disappear when sent replaced by a text based link.

I send this (with a link embedded in the image so that clicking on the image takes the reader to a web page):

Since upgrading to Ventura, this will always change to this after being sent:

In other words Mail replaces the image with the filename of the image (with the link embedded, by the way).

What's more, the message in my 'Sent' folder turns into the text link (without the image) as well.

This only happens when I add a link to an image. Without a link, embedded images still work as expected.

Anyone know why this is happening?

you can simply include the url in the content of the email... does that work.

You can put a . in front of the link if you do not want it to blossom.

there are some noticeable changes the way mail is handling images and links—yes.
