Iphone photos app vs photo stream?

Will the photos on my phone, the ones i get when clicking on the Photos icon, disappear in a few days? Everyone tells me something different

is that app the same as "photo stream?" If not, how would you have used photo stream?

Hoping the photos app on my phone and my pictures won't be deleted. Thank you

Hello sprucepie!

Instead of piping in with my own explanation at the risk of confusing you more, instead, Iā€™m going to let the experts tell you:

👉 My Photo Stream is shutting down on July 26, 2023.

👉 An Ubituary of My Photo Stream

I hope this is helpful. Good Luck!

Photo Stream was a service you could access through the Photos App.

Only the photos in the Photo Stream that are not already on the iPhone would be going away but would still be available on the device they were taken on.

The Photo Stream only contains a copy of the photos taken with a device within the last 30 days , but it going away will not delete anything from your iPhone, that is already there.

If you don't see a Photo Stream Album in the Photos app, you were not using Photo Stream.
