I'm getting a popup that says: K9 Web Protection is corrupted. It's an old program that I uninstalled years ago. I recently bought a new MacBook and when I transferred from my old MacBook to the new one the popup started appearing. Can't find any application files for K9 or files in the ~Library. Tried opening in safe mode and it still happens. Any suggestions???

You're on the right track looking in ~/Library. Keep looking for it in the following three separate locations:
~/Library/LaunchAgents
/Library/LaunchDaemons
/Library/LaunchAgents
Post their contents if you so choose. Normally, they contain few files if any, and it's a good idea to know what's in them.

Thanks for your help John! I looked more carefully at all the LaunchAgent files and found one for K9, deleted it, emptied the trash and restarted--problem solved!
