macOS Settings asks me to install 13.4.1 (c).


There is no mention of 13.4.1 (c) on the Apple security releases page. No (c) at all. Nor '13.4.1 (b); no (b) at all.

That's fascinating. There was no three character string. (c) on that page when I posted my question a few minutes ago. There are three now.


Perhaps they first send the update notice to machines that are connected, then get around to updating the page.

At 3:24 AM Pacific this morning, i received a message from Apple Support Communities <discussions-updates@email.apple.com>. The message contained the following comment, and this link:

Well, I found the comment on target, so here it is:


The original question is surprisingly open. When I get a notification about a new kind of update on my working machine's operating system, then it's crucial if it is genuine, and also to know about what it might change or how dangerous it could be.
