I have a series 4 watch, and an iphone SE running 16.1.1. I have reset both the phone and the watch. It constantly pairs, then unpairs even if I set up manually, as a new watch, or try to restore from backup. What the heck is the problem? From what I have researched this format should work. Why will this not pair???

For early watches you must have ios16.4.1 or later.
Update it to the latest which is 16.5.2 at time of writing I believe

We have exactly the same issue with my daughter's watch (second hand) and phone but the phone is running on ios 17.1. So this is not the issue. But it pairs and then immediately unpairs. We've reset the phone and watch several times but to no avail. The Watch is definitely not paired with any other device. Any help?
That was it! Updated to latest software and watch paired correctly.
