My wired headphones beep when I plug them in but all music and sounds play through the speaker.

I have tried apple brand wired airpods, I have tired third party after market ones, and for some reason, every time I plug in wired earbuds into my daughters iphone 12, they beep in the earbud but when I go to play music, all sounds play through the speaker phone. I have checked the settings, and I can't figure out for the life of me, why this is happening.

I have searched online and can't find a solution.

She is up to date on her software running iOS 16.5.1

She has done an icloud backup

I checked for any updates to youtube, tiktok, spotify and all apps that we tried that have sound, and none of them needed an update.

I did a force restart (volume up, volume down, and then press and hold in the power/side button until you see the apple logo) and still no luck

Does anyone know of a solution to this issue?

As much as I appreciate your help, I work for a third party company and we do Apple Support. So yes, I've already tried all this. And yes, we have apple care on my daughter's phone. We're trying to avoid this and at the end of the day, if we have to replace the phone, I don't have a credit card with the amount of a new iPhone 12 available on it for the monetary hold we'll need to replace the phone. Dropping it off for repair isn't an option either because that means she'll be without a phone. This is why we're asking the public FIRST before doing all of this.
