In common with others (it would appear), installation of iOS 16.5 severely degraded the battery life, and also caused significant heat generation. This was an immediate and quantifiable direct consequence of the upgrade. Online forums suggested that others have experienced this, and that Apple should fix it with 16.5.1. It wasn't fixed. I still have seriously reduced battery life, so much so that I cannot use the phone as have in the past.
If Apple didn’t say so, it ought to have been taken with a grain of salt. Only Apple knows what their updates will fix, until the update is released, then Apple usually shares what the updates improved, fixed, etc.
Good Luck.
PS: Apparently, restoring the iPhone in DFU Mode fixed the battery drain issue for many users. If you’re interested, report back.
If you read them.......you will see that there is nothing in the release notes on iOS 16.5.1 that mentions anything about the battery.
Do you have other information from Apple that you can provide?
Who told you it would?
Mr Jinks ~ Does your iPhone 11 still have its original battery?
And what's the Maximum Capacity % here?...

Please provide a link to the documentation from Apple that a battery issue exists.
Yes, original battery, 88% capacity. This was checked immediately before the original upgrade to 16.5, and it still shows this.
My battery capacity is 94%. I'm having the very same issue as Mr. Jinks. Update 16.5.1 made it worse.
