Iphone Live photos crops the image so you can't use it for serious photography

There was already a topic but it was closed. When you select an image to Make Key Photo, this image is cropped. The worst is Apple answer: "While you're selecting your key photo, the picture does zoom in a bit. Once you have selected the photo and save your changes, the image will return to normal, and no longer be zoomed in." This is just not true, as already confirmed by other people.

? Thank you , but it seems irrelevant with my post and the previous posts about the same problem Live photo zooms in when choosing another… - Apple Community

Or if I'm wrong, people just want to use Live photo being 100% certain that the photo will not be cropped when you Make it Key Photo.

It entirely depends upon the photography style and techniques. (These are valid for Still Images, Live, and Video)

The selection of a key Photo will depend on the following parameters.

  • Where the camera was made to focus?
  • Where were all the subjects in the Pic?
  • How far from the center the subject head was?
  • What were you trying to picturise?
  • What was Zoom (.5, 1, or 2x)?
  • Did you lock your manual focus and exposure settings for upcoming shots?
