I received the following error message when trying to sync my phone on my iMac. "The iPhone “Unknown” cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (0x10CC0026)." The phone is plugged in and I have received the error with two different cords and connections. I restarted the phone. Still getting the error. How do I resolve this?

Same problem, tried this "quick fix" advice: same issue. Oddly, the phone that's attached continues syncing, apparently successfully, even after this error. Where is the "iPhone “Unknown”" bit coming from I wonder. FWIW, mine is a new MBA15, Apple-branded USBC-to-Lightning adapter.
The phone is syncing successfully and generating a spurious error, something I can live with for a bit. I will wait to cycle in/out of iCloud for a while to see if an update addresses this: signing in/out of iCloud is such a pain in the 🫏, and invariably causes issues on my other iCloud devices, mainly the dreaded "Sign in to iCloud to enable stuff on this machine." I also want to avoid the "erase your iPhone and restore it" dance, and in the history of erasing and restoring my iPhone in the hopes of fixing something, I'd say I'm batting <.125.
Restart both and then reconnect the iPhone to the iMac.

Sign out of your Apple ID and then immediately sign back in. That may kickstart sync.
