I went to Apple to see what they can do about my camera not working and they tested it and said something was wrong with the hardware. The camera is not working. The antenna is not working nothing I did cause it but it was just a hardware issue and it would cost me over $600 to fix it or actually $549 plus tax so I went to AT&T AT&T told me that I can use my insurance but my deductible was $275. I waited a couple days went to a different AT&T store and this young guy literally does a hard reset on my phone and Walla my cameras working , so try a hard reset if you don’t know what that is, it’s gonna be the volume up volume down just one time in that order and then hold the power button down until the Apple symbol pops up. That’s it!

I was struggling with this for a few weeks and then finally came across this post.
The hard reset worked for me.

I have the same issue. The screen comes up black when I open the camera app. If i open it to the selfie mode, it takes a minute but comes up, however the main camera screen stays black. I talked with somebody through the apple messaging app and they ran the analytics and said it s a hardware issue. I tries updating, hard resetting but nothing worked. It is so weird because it happened out of nowhere …
I wonder why turning the phone off and popping it in the frig for an hour worked. My camera stopped working in the middle of the day under full sun and now I’m wondering if the hot and cold have something to do with this?
My iPhone 13 Pro Max just started to tell me that it did not recognize my camera in my settings. My camera works perfectly my videos work perfectly. I just had a iOS update today 18.something.something. Can somebody tell me why my phone thinks my camera is messed up when it's not? Thank you in advance.
I have this issue too. Contacted apple and what do you know, nothing to do with them. However, my work mate has the exact same phone and exact same issue happened after updating. To fix, WE must pay even though it is their own issue in the update.
I have had the issue for sometime and it just started working.
The camera areas doesn’t get as warm when you turn on the camera.
I am still observing this to see if it reoccurs.

My normal photo in camera is now on 2x in default
my portrait is on 3x zoom and can’t be changed
the portrait effect doesn’t work anymore
i have tried resetting and everything nothing seems to work
cinematic not working
