Rented Movies , shared to family members

I rented a movie (john wick 4), i can see it on all my devices, but the people in my family sharing cannot see the rented movie in TV+ app. They can see all my purchased movies, just not the rented one?

Hello Macpad72,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. We'd like to help out and share some information with you. According to this resource here: What is Family Sharing? - Apple Support

It states the following information:

When you set up purchase sharing, everyone in the family gets access to the apps, music, movies, TV shows, and books that family members buy. The content automatically appears on the Purchased page in the App Store, iTunes Store, Apple Books, or Apple TV app. Some items can't be shared.

More details can be found here as well: Legal - Apple Media Services - Apple

Not all Content, including In-App Purchases, subscriptions, and some previously acquired Apps, are eligible for Purchase Sharing.

It's highly possible that rentals are not considered full purchase of films. However, the best approach to take is to reach out to Apple Support directly. They can confirm this information with you since it's not listed on their resources. Use this link to reach them: Get Support

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Take care.
