Giving my iPad to someone else

I would like to give an older generation iPad to a friend (an older lady). She's not very tech-savvy and probably won't do too much with it, but she might enjoy the games and maybe learn to use Facetime. What are the bare-minimum things I need to do before I turn it over to her? Any specific instructions are much appreciated, as well. Thanks!
