Portal 2

Hi there, I have been trying to play portal 2 on my macbook air from 2017. I have it on steam but when I run the program it never runs. It just said it was running but then instantly stops. When I run it from the cmd I just said 'bad cause type in executable'. Any ideas?

MacBook can't run this game anymore I have a 13' with a 1.7 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 processor, and Intel Iris Plus Graphics 645 1536 MB for graphics. I got into Crusader Kings III and was able to run it for the past 5 months. A new DLC dropped recently and now I can start the game but it won't let me click on anything in the menu. I tried deleting the game, changing the resolution, deleting DLC, factory resetting my Mac and nothing works. How can I go from being able to run something to not being able to at all? Before this issue started I updated my OS could that be the issue?

Portal 2 is 32 bit so it won't run on any version of macOS after Mojave.
