Do you still hear other sounds coming from your Apple Watch as expected or do you hear nothing at all?
If you haven't already, could you try restarting your Apple Watch to see if that improves things at all? Restart your Apple Watch - Apple Support
If not, could you also check your sound settings in Settings > Sounds & Haptics and ensure that the volume is up in there?
Checking those things can help narrow down what's happening here.

Does not give me any sounds at all even though seems and or appears that serie tries and respond; but, don't hear anything then either. So wined up doing a hard reset of the watch which always fixes the issue when happens. Hadn't tried checking the watch app from my iphone to see if anything can be solved that way which if happens again will do. But, things are working fine and when this issue happens it's not often.
